When a family wants
everyone in the photographs.

I accompany families on trips, photograph private celebrations, and return for milestones over the years. The service is especially suited to families who would like their time documented over several days and brought together in a personally designed book.

A one-off journey is welcome. There is no need to start with a commitment to ongoing coverage.

A useful
first introduction.

To discuss suitability and availability, a brief overview is enough:

  • The destination or event location and approximate dates.
  • The type of occasion and number of days you are considering.
  • The general group size and whether generations are travelling together.
  • The main contact for coordination and any broad privacy requirements.

Names of family members and a detailed itinerary are not needed for the initial inquiry. We can agree on an appropriate way to exchange those details later.

A familiar face.
Before the journey begins.

Whenever possible, I like to speak with the family before we travel together. A video call is a good beginning. If schedules and location allow, meeting in person—even over dinner—gives us time to get to know one another before the trip.

That early familiarity helps everyone feel more comfortable when I arrive with a camera. It also gives the family a chance to get a sense of who I am, ask questions, and share what matters to them.

An assistant or advisor can remain the liaison throughout. Meeting beforehand is a preference, not a requirement; we work with the time and opportunities available.

Preparation that
feels personal.

Before departure, an itinerary and introductions help me understand the family and prepare for the activities ahead. Knowing whether we will be hiking, swimming, or attending a celebration helps me bring the right cameras and lenses.

I also welcome photography preferences, family routines, and the small details the family would like me to know. Who enjoys being photographed? When would they prefer some space? What moments matter most to them?

There is no need for an exhaustive brief. We begin with a conversation and build familiarity over time, with respect for what the family chooses to share.

How coordination works

I coordinate with your family’s existing team, including a personal assistant, nanny, or household staff, so photography fits around the children’s routines and the family’s plans. We agree beforehand on the moments to photograph and the times to step away.

Availability and scope
We discuss the family’s plans, the moments they would like covered, and whether the schedule fits. Fees, deliverables, and responsibilities are agreed before the commission.
Travel and accommodations
The client or travel team generally arranges travel. Staying in the same property, or nearby, helps me photograph the day as it unfolds. I can also coordinate my own arrival when the itinerary calls for it.
Privacy
We discuss the family’s preferences and any confidentiality agreement before the trip. Photographs are not published without express authorization.
The finished work
Travel commissions include a personally designed 10 × 13-inch book. The first design is usually ready within two weeks of returning; printing generally takes four to six weeks after approval. Edited digital images can be delivered privately online or offline.

Experience you
can introduce with confidence.

I established my business in 1994. My career includes photographing the weddings of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, and Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton. One wedding commission became an ongoing family relationship that has continued for sixteen years.

You are welcome to share this page with a family considering photography. The biography and published work offer background; the books show how I bring a journey together.

A FEW PRACTICAL DETAILS

Before we begin.

How are commissions and minimum stays structured?

I work on a daily fee, with a minimum of two to five days depending on the destination and travel involved. A shorter journey generally carries a two- to three-day minimum; longer-distance travel generally calls for four to five days. The minimum is confirmed in your individual estimate.

Are travel days and expenses included in the estimate?

Travel days are charged. The client also covers airfare, accommodations, and other travel-related expenses. Once I know the destination, dates, and scope, I can prepare an upfront estimate so the arrangements and anticipated costs are clear before we commit.

How do booking and payment work?

The estimate and payment terms are agreed before travel, and a deposit is required to reserve the commission. I generally collect payment in full before departure. If we agree on split payments, 50% is paid before travel and the remaining 50% when I deliver the first digital book design, usually within one to two weeks of returning. This is the design for review, rather than delivery of the printed book.

Who normally arranges flights and accommodations?

The client or travel team generally makes those arrangements. I can coordinate my own travel when needed. Staying at the same property makes it easier to follow the family’s day; if that is not possible, I can stay nearby and join them during the agreed coverage.

Can you arrive before the family’s photography coverage begins?

An earlier arrival can be discussed as part of the itinerary. It can allow time to adjust to the destination and photograph the surroundings for the book before joining the family. Timing and travel arrangements are agreed for each commission.

What should a personal assistant, family office, or travel advisor include in the first inquiry?

The destination, approximate dates, general group size, and the kind of journey or celebration are enough to begin. Please include your role and broad privacy requirements. Family names and a detailed itinerary are not needed for the initial conversation.
